Handy Mac App – “Pipette”
Hi everyone,
For my first real blog entry, I wanted to share a tool that I discovered that has proven to become QUITE handy. It’s a little application called “Pipette”.
Have you ever been working on web site and needed to match the colour of the text to a certain template? Or, say, you want to colour a shape in Photoshop to match that of a component on a web page? Well, Pipette may be your solution.
Pipette is a handy little mac application that allows the user to sample the colour from any pixel on the screen and obtain it’s hex code. It has a simple interface that displays a closeup of your screen, as well as an eyedropper tool and a text box. Simply click and drag the little eyedropper icon to any spot on the screen and let go. You can then copy the code that comes up in the text box and paste it into a Photoshop document, CSS style sheet, Word document, HTML code, or wherever you please. It’s a free download and is available for both PowerPC and Intel users. Click the image to download a universal version (both Intel and PPC). Your download will start after the 15 second intermission.
Alright, well that’s it for now. More tips, tricks and updates coming soon!
